Campaign Pitches

These are broad pitches. I’m just trying to get a sense of what excites folks. I would enjoy running any of these. Some of them might dovetail into each other! These all take place within Kaelon, my world.

The Final Mission of The Singularity

Imperator Radamel’s battle city Diopolis nears completion. It lacks one ingredient, which Radamel’s spies inform him hides within the Great Library in Tor. Elven academic Mithlos, patron of the Great Library, has invested an age to decode the ancient Elvish text that explains the old magic secrets of city flight. If Radamel acquires this information, he would gain a massive strategic asset for war. Your mission: Raid the Great Library and retrieve its secret for your Imperator.

Politics: Medium

Tactics: High

Self-direction: Low

Lethality: High

Player buy-in: You are 6th level members of the Singularity, the special ops squadron of the Dark Star Guild, an organization of secrets. You’d have to be interested in planning a heist and playing a lawful evil character (or thereabouts), willing to do anything including murder to achieve your mission, but restrained enough to not leave a swath of death that would lead investigators back to the Dark Star Guild.

City of Freedom

A common idiom of the countryside is, “You can find it in Virdea”, referring to the frenetic trading city in the center of the Avenhill vale. Souvenirs with magical properties, wild performers, exotic vittles; the stories are both mysterious and tantalizing. And now that a merchant caravan is passing your small town of Naxwood on its way to Virdea, your opportunity to see the big city for yourself is finally here! What might you find at the legendary trading apex?

Player buy-in: You’ll start as 1st level adventurers. You need to be self-directed and motivated to find quests, as Virdea will offer many opportunities but require you to meet folks and choose what you do. Additionally, at least a couple players will need to have some personal motivations to occupy the downtime between quests.
